Returning to my ancestors' land always fill me with indescribable emotions.
As I entered Bagangte, I made a couple of calls to check who amongst my large family is in town. One of my hundred cousins had a funeral as he lost his wife. Popped by, having the chance to meet lots of other cousins who were very surprised at my sight.
A few mn with my family before leaving to my father ancestors' land, Banekouane II. Arrived in the dark on a fresh and lightly breezy night. Neighbors immediately gathered around us as they saw a 4WD park on our property, most are family members who greeted me warmly all knowing my tribal honoring name: Taleun.
One relative offered us water and freshly harvested corn, another fresh peanuts. Could not wait to start fire after gathering pieces of wood at the back of the little house. Huge fire started, cannot tell my emotions. Have already eaten 3 pieces of roasted sweet corn and pounds of peanuts. A well deserved break after a week in the rainforest with cocoa growers, with a diet dissimilar to my land of origin.
Now sitting out in the dark, lighted by the bright moon, posting this piece on my tablet. Technology matters!
